We are thrilled to share some exciting news with our cherished community. Moth & Myth is entering a new chapter, and we couldn't be more grateful to have you with us on this journey. After months of preparation and careful transition, we are delighted to announce the reopening of our online shop under the new ownership of Roxy Schultz.
Moth & Myth began in 2015 as a passion project between friends and artists, Kari-Lise Alexander and Redd Walitzki. What started as a simple idea, creating beautiful, cruelty-free paper moths and butterflies, quickly blossomed into a thriving creative community. With intricate, sustainable designs that offer an eco-friendly alternative to traditional specimens, Moth & Myth has captured hearts and imaginations around the world.
"When we started on this adventure called Moth & Myth, we had no idea the beautiful company it would become. Thank you to our wonderful customers for showing your support and growing with us over the years. It has been incredible to be part of your lives in some small way. As we pass the torch to the next generation, we couldn’t have asked for a better steward. Roxy exemplifies the values we hold so dear, and we are so excited for this next chapter of Moth & Myth."
— With much love and gratitude, Kari-Lise & Redd
Roxy's journey with Moth & Myth began as a devoted admirer and customer, using our paper specimens in her own jewelry line, Wild by Design, where she found endless inspiration in their delicate beauty. Her deep love for these creations and passion for sustainability made her the perfect fit to continue the brand's legacy.
Based in Portland, Oregon, Roxy is excited to nurture the strong connections within the artistic community, working alongside makers, crafters, and collectors who transform our specimens into stunning works of art. She brings years of experience as an artist and small business owner, with a background in real botanical and faux insect jewelry design. Beyond her creative work, Roxy finds joy in exploring Portland’s vibrant art (and food!) scene, hiking through the lush Pacific Northwest landscapes, and spending time with her partner Cameron and their two beloved cats, Nuj and Makita.
Roxy's vision for Moth & Myth is rooted in honoring its legacy while introducing fresh inspiration that stays true to the brand's values of sustainability, artistry, and accessibility.
While Moth & Myth embarks on this next chapter, our mission remains the same. To provide cruelty-free, beautifully crafted paper specimens that inspire creativity and honor the natural world. We will continue to create products with care and intention, support independent artists and small businesses, and foster a vibrant, engaged community of dreamers and creators.
